Chicago-based tenor Filip Duda is a versatile artist with a passion for early music, vocal chamber music, and opera. A dedicated performer of baroque repertoire, he has appeared as a Young Artist at the Five Cities Baroque Festival (2025, 2026), Chicago’s Landowska Harpsichord Society, also participating in Juilliard415’s St. John Passion workshop (2024) and Oberlin’s Baroque Performance Institute (2019). Likewise comfortable in the world of opera, he has appeared as King Kaspar (Amahl and the Night Visitors), Young Ivan Turgenev (Notes on Viardot) and Dr. Blind (Die Fledermaus), each with Music On Site, as well as Mr. Upfold (Albert Herring), Telemaco (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), and Bardolfo (Falstaff) with DePaul Opera Theate.
Filip is cantor at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Barrington, IL, where he also leads the choir. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Illinois Wesleyan University and M.Mus. in Voice from DePaul University. When not performing, he enjoys exploring obscure Romantic-era song literature, discovering lesser-performed Baroque music, and teaching his beloved cat, Rameau, new tricks.
